Heating technology manufacturer opts for BuyFast from jCatalog

Dortmund, 4/25/05 - Viessmann Werke GmbH & Co. KG and Allendorf have all decided to use the BuyFast software from jCatalog. The optimal conditions for a technical integration into Viessmann's infrastructure as well as product performance were the decisive criteria for using jCatalog software. BuyFast is connected to the inventory control system via OCI and to the procurement portal developed by Viessmann via a Java interface. According to Manuel Lenz, Project Coordinator with Viessmann, "what is important to us is that jCatalog enables integration, based on standard Java technology, into the existing IT infrastructure, and moreover contains a number of functions in the standard version that will make procurement considerably easier in the future". To begin with, the first 300 users will procure C goods and commodities via the system. "Viessmann-specific information, such as information on price calculation and accounting, is stored together with product information in the system", according to Lenz, who views the cost-savings on entering order requirements and offers as the main added value.
