SupplyNet selects jCatalog software for the SupplyNet
on-demand Catalog Service
Dortmund, Germany 28.07.04: - jCatalog Software AG,
a leading provider of electronic catalog systems, announced
that SupplyNet, New Zealand, has selected the jCatalog
MarketFast product suite for the outsource content management
and hosted electronic catalog search services. "Companies
and Public Organizations in both New Zealand and Australia
have embraced the concept of outsourcing catalog content
management and catalog search" said Brent Baldwin, General
Manager of SupplyNet. "We have already identified our
launch customers for the hosted catalog service and
are on track to be deployed with these customers by
the end of the third quarter. I have been quite amazed
at the level of interest in this new service and see
it as an area of continued growth for us." "The addition
of the jCatalog Catalog Search Manager to our portfolio
of solutions now allows us to address all aspects of
catalog based procurement, from our hosted procurement
solutions to delivering content for behind the firewall
procurement solution and now we can support those organizations
with ERP's with an entirely outsourced content management
and catalog search tool" continued Brent. "As we move
all these solutions to the jCatalog tool we expect to
realize increased efficiencies in our internal processes
and have the scalability to meet the expected demand
for these services cost effectively." The jCatalog MarketFast
software solution consists of three modules. The Catalog
Content Manager automates the process of loading, validating,
approving and publishing electronic catalogs to e-procurement
customers. The Self Service Manager allows suppliers
and buyers to self-manage the catalog publishing process.
The Catalog Search Manager is a powerful tool for searching
and shopping within a multi supplier catalog of contracted
goods and services. Search manager supports all major
procurement applications including SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft,
Ariba and Commerce One. "SupplyNet's decision to use
our software continues to vindicate our strategy of
providing solutions for on-demand procurement service
providers such as SupplyNet" said Stephan Albers, CEO
of jCatalog. "The catalog based procurement space is
now mature and is ready for the mainstream, and this
coupled with the openness to out-source non-core processes
like catalog management bodes well for the future for
service providers like SupplyNet. These new services
are a natural extension of the existing capabilities
of SupplyNet and we are very pleased to have a partner
of this caliber in the Australiasian Market."
