Raiffeisen Switzerland uses a common platform to merge purchasing and authorisation requests. jCatalog’s Procurement Manager solution, with its integrated Workflow Engine, makes sure the authorisations are processed through a multi-level approval procedure. Thanks to the Self Service Portal (SSP), it is possible to support the time-consuming and labour-intensive request processes in a more efficient and effective way.
Dortmund/St. Gallen, March 2011-- The products and solutions from jCatalog, including the enterprise-class and very flexible workflow-engine, are ideal for Raiffeisen Switzerland’s specific corporate requirements. In addition to jCatalog’s long track record of delivering projects of similar scale and scope, ease of use and the fact that very limited training was required to use the solution turned out to be additional deciding factors counting in favour of the Dortmund-based company. All 10,000 users can quickly and easily start using the new system because the jCatalog software interface resembles common e-commerce systems that users have learned to use at home.
Having successfully completed the Proof of Concept (PoC), the starting signal for the company-wide implementation was given. Heinz Knöpfel, Project Manager at Raiffeisen Switzerland, is very satisfied with the test results the PoC has produced: “We perceive jCatalog as an innovative software company capable to efficiently design, plan and implement their standard solution, as well as customized and complex new requirements – e.g. a catalogue-based authorisation software with password management – that exceed standard functionalities.“
The first implementation stage includes an automated, multi-level authorisation process with German, French and Italian language packages made available to the 800 approvers. The solution enables the automated ordering and management of authorisation requests as well as of free text orders. Moreover, various search options with sorting and filtering functions and product comparisons are provided. Based on the complex, multi-level dependencies and approval procedures, Raiffeisen Switzerland’s Content Management Teams can constantly keep the respective authorisations up-to-date. In addition, staff can add authorisation-related information to optimise selection and ordering processes. The function for easily creating internal catalogues – without needing IT skills – was part of the critical Phase 1 project, allowing business owners to expand the solution utilization without project work.
With the first implementation stage now complete, the next step will automate the requisition to invoice process for significant categories of spend.
